Happy Halloween and Change of Seasons!

Hello friends and Happy Halloween! I thought today I would share with you a revisiting of Autumn's Pantry, the project I worked on in 2019 that celebrates all the wonderful things this change of seasons has to offer. It is a local farmside shop which is a must-visit destination for the community at harvest's end.

The proprietor, Fiona, has dressed up in her favorite witchy costume to delight the children who stop by. She was created by Pauline Pugliese whom I have known since the beginning of her journey into doll making. She is an incredibly talented artisan, and Fiona is the cherished and treasured host of this establishment.

Folks also love to come by and visit with Spooky, the friendly black cat. He doesn't give you bad luck if he crosses in front of you, but he is likely to rub up on your pantlegs and leave behind a few hairs.

The shop offers seasonal delights such as baked goods and jams, locally bottled cider, locally grown apples, pumpkins and flowers and even offers home décor made by local artisans to decorate with for Thanksgiving.

Once you find all the fall delights you're craving inside the shop, you can take the family on a walk through the corn maze and into the pumpkin patch to pick your favorite gourd for carving. The grounds all around the shop are filled with seasonal decorations!

It is even a little spooky at night if you like that sort of thing.

Whatever way you celebrate the season, there's something for you at Autumn's Pantry! Come by for a cup of hot apple cider and a visit with old friends! Fiona and Spooky are waiting for you!

There are plans for a future sister shop to celebrate all things spring and summer, but that's a ways down the queue, yet.

I am off to visit my folks in Arizona, so until I see you again mid November, take care and enjoy all that the season has to offer!

xo xo,

Jodi

    1. ¡Gracias Pilar!

  5. Oh, what a wonderful post! ;O) I've enjoyed meeting again with Fiona, Spooky and their beautiful shop to the fullest. It was a big pleasure to recover all these delicious treats and the beautiful decorations you've made. And it's exciting news that you're thinking about a sister shop in the future... hooray... fun project's coming up. But forgive me reminding you that there are FOUR seasons... listen closely to me whispering a bug into your brain: "Christmas shop... Christmas shop... Christmas shop..." (Aaaaahhhrrrgggghhhh... see what you're bringing me to... I even mentioned this certain holiday at the end of the year which shouldn't be named yet at this time of the year!!!)

I hope you've had a Happy Halloween and that you are having / will have a great time with your family. Enjoy it to the fullest and make as many memories as possible... while I am looking forward to see something new from you popping up here.

    Hugs
    Birgit

    1. Thanks Birgit! You said THAT WORD!!! My tummy just sunk. Is it November already???
Oh, and don't you tempt me with a Christmas shop! You know I already have a drawer full of Christmas minis and supplies that I have collected, right? I was saving them to make an interactive advent diorama for my someday grandkids. But since Tasha is only ever going to give me goats and chickens, and Ande is taking his sweet time, I may just end up making a Christmas shop! Especially if, God forbid, I dismantle the Sweet Christmas Cottage when we downsize and move into our "golden years".

As for a shop for every season... You are a bad influence! Don't you know I am having a hard time already controlling myself? My head is full of ideas and half done ideas and I still haven't figured out a way to stop time and quit getting older! I know - you come here and move in with me and we can double team our dreams, okay? 😜

I am going to squeeze my folks so tight, Birgit. I miss them so much, and you know better than most how precious this time is as they get older. I'll write you privately when I get home to tell you of some troubling news. Big hugs.

    1. Thanks so much, Drora! I need to observe a little discipline and finish some things before I allow myself to begin anything new. But it is nice to dream!
Stay safe and I'll connect with you when I get home. Big hugs!

  9. Oh how I love this shop! and Fiona ofcourse. I stil think she is a real witch. but a good one of course. not some hag dabling in black magic.

The shop itself is mini perfection. every detail is just right. And although you have crammed it full of miniatures not one of them is too much. Everything is just as it should be.

  12. What a beautiful and abundant little shop full of lovely goodies! As a heavy tea drinker, what caught my eye especially were the pumpkin shaped teapots (I guess). Did you make them?

    1. Thanks Millimari! It is an explosion of fall color! I did not make the teapot. It was a purchase from a mini shop but I cannot remember which one. I do believe it is mass produced by Falcon Miniatures or Houseworks, so you should be able to find one like it, probably seasonally, at your favorite retailer. I bet you could make a pretty good one with Paperclay if you're feeling crafty!
