Enough with all the hyperbole - here is the scoop: I have sold on the New Orleans Dollhouse! The buyer, a local follower and lovely woman, is also an absolute dollhouse nut just like us.
She wanted the dollhouse, mostly for the kitchen (who can blame her?), so I set about pulling everything out that wasn't nailed down. That means... More eBay Auctions!
It has been quite a process to lovingly remove each carefully curated (or created) piece. It has been wonderful to reminisce on all the memories of how this beautiful dollhouse was brought to life from kit to dream come true! I am so grateful to have the blog which chronicled so much of the process. It makes me proud of the challenges I had to overcome and gives me confidence that whatever dream I try to tackle in the future, with inspiration and determination, I believe they'll come true!
As much as I love the New Orleans' contents, I simply can't hang on to everything if I want to keep dreaming and making new things. Hopefully, all the stuff will find its way to new homes with dreamers just like me. Maybe it's you!
The auctions, all eleven of them, have been broken down by room and are being sold in massive lots. All the bidding starts at $.99 cents with no reserve, buyers will only pay for the actual shipping charges to their address, and if the total exceeds USPS insurance I will pony up for the extra coverage, no charge.
My Miniature Madness eBay Store
Bidding starts on Thursday, January 15th and goes through Sunday, January 25th. There's nothing to lose so go have a look! I hope you'll at least find some inspiration for your own projects!
Hope the New Year has been good to all of you and that it only continues to get better!
Happy Bidding!
xo xo,
Jodi
DeleteThank you so much, Pilar! I know you're facing the same dilemma, because your creativity is insatiable! I love sharing the happiness and joy that miniatures bring me. A hug and Happy New Year!
Happy New Year, dear Jodi!
ReplyDeleteAt least I'm sure that all these magnificent mini homes will be loved and appreciated by any new lucky owner.
A big warm hug,
Drora
Hi Drora! Thanks so much for your kind thoughts! It is so good to hear from you! You are often in my thoughts and I hope you are well! Hugs!
DeleteThis house has always been one of my favorites. It will bring so much joy to the new owner. So beautifully finished and decorated, it set the standard for sure. I'm not sure I I understand how you can part with it; however, I'm glad that you selling rooms as sets; folks are getting fabulous deals.
DeleteHi Ann! It's so nice to hear from you! Thanks so much for your nice sentiments!
DeleteWe dropped off the New Orleans on Sunday and I was privileged with a tour of some of the lady's other dollhouse collection. Among them is a Hogwarts with original Ric Pierce windows in the great hall and four Noel Thomas houses. They were incredible!!! It is humbling to have one of my dollhouses join such an amazing collection!
Because of an abundance of spam comments, I have had to resort to approving comments. I know it's a real turn off and I do apologize. Sometimes it takes me a day or so to check my email and approve them. Scammers and spammers have really made such a negative impact to our world. I am so glad you're still here sharing this mini journey!
That is such a beautiful house Jodi, I'm sure it has gone to someone who will treasure it. I have to approve comments now as well. I get a commenter now and again but I'm not sure if it's a person or AI because sometimes the grammer/content doesn't make sense and then other times the comment is quite funny. Either way I just don't know what people get out of it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Polly! It was such a fun dollhouse to build with all the fancy and challenging details! I’m so glad that someone else will get to enjoy it too! I’m not sure if any of those spammers profit but they must somehow. Our lovely dollhouse blog world has been infiltrated but we’ll keep calm and carry on right! 💗

Delete"Even though it's a bit late, Happy New Year.
It's a shame you got rid of this beautiful house after putting so much work into it. At least you have those good memories you enjoyed there.
Best regards"

Consider me chastised, Marian! You are right - I should keep these minis forever! If only I were rich and lived in a gigantic house! But new dreams cost money and require space, so hard decisions must be made. If I did not have the photos and a chronicle of my experience I would be too sad to let them go. Thank goodness I have the blog and mini friends like you to remind me of all the good times! Hugs!
