I guess announcing that the last five vanities are up for auction on eBay is itself a form of vanity. Something to ponder...
Nevertheless, they are, and once these are gone, I expect I won't make any for sale again. It's been interesting, fun, educational, but sooooo much work!
These are the last five:
There are lots more photos of each in the listings, bidding started at $.99, and here is the link:

Meanwhile, I'll leave you with a peek at what I decided to work on next for the Storybook...
Back in a couple of days with a real post! :O)

Jodi
Hello Jodi,
ReplyDeleteI am sure these last five vanities will find wonderful homes. I cannot wait to see your next post...the fireplace wall for the cottage is very interesting.
Big hug
Giac
Thanks Giac! I wish I could see them in their new homes, but I'll be happy if their new owners are delighted with them!
DeleteIt is so much fun to explore ideas for the Storybook Cottage, and I am learning new skills and gaining so much confidence in the process. It's been truly enjoyable!
Can't wait to see if I can win one of the auctions!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that fireplace. So pretty.
Thanks Sheila! It would be so neat if one of my vanities came to live in one of your magnificent structures! I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya!
DeleteI purchased the resin fireplace from The Little Dollhouse Company because it was really nicely detailed, affordable, and the thinnest I've ever seen - just 5/8" deep! Perfect for a "compact" living space! :O)
Hi Jodi! I am glad you are announcing the auctions! You worked so hard to make them and many who are watching here will want to buy one! I think appropriate pride in a job well done is never Vanity! :) And I like the teaser too..... the hearth is always such a great focal point... and you are "Framing" the scene beautifully!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy! Thanks for the encouragement! I would never be a very good salesperson - being pushy makes me soooo uncomfortable!
DeleteI have been thinking about focal points lately, and how to better utilize the space in dollhouse rooms so that so much of the interesting things aren't always placed on side walls and therefore harder to see. I think in a future build, one of my goals will be to have the back wall of each room be the focal point. Working out how will be challenging!
We are going to miss your vanities Jodi! I wish you the best of luck with the selling of this last lot. It was fun and educational following you during this process. Let me say once more that they are all exquisite pieces :).
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Alex! The hard work and huge time investment are fading into memory, leaving me only with gratitude for the lessons and experience. I had fun going through all of the photos again! I hope the buyers will be even more pleased once they see them in person!
DeleteHi, Jodi - I'll miss seeing all your wonderful vanities, but I'm sure that the new owners will be thrilled to have them. I love the trio of arches on your Storybook fireplace wall; I'm excited to see what your next post discloses!
ReplyDeleteMarjorie
Thanks Marjorie! In some strange way, it feels good to let them go. I full of hope that they will be enjoyed by others for whom miniatures are a delight and a bright spot in their lives!
DeleteI have found true inspiration and motivation in the to-do's on the Storybook this week - so much so that sleep has taken a real back seat! :O) I hope you'll be pleased to see the progress!
Excited! :) The countdown is on. :D
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed that I'll be shipping 4 to Oz!
DeleteThe vanities are utterly beautiful. I'm sure they's be a hit with their new owners.
ReplyDeleteAmazing results with your new sawing equipment. You are getting to be a professional carpenter.
Hugs, Drora
Ha ha! Thanks for the vote of confidence on my mini carpentry skills! It is amazing what you can accomplish with the right tool for the job!
