Sweet Christmas Cottage - And The Next Layer...

Getting on the next set of layers has been fun and fiddly...

I love the collage clay, though my piping skills are still a bit shakey...

The flower boxes filled with candy flowers and fudgy chocolate soil...

Gumdrop goodness in a rainbow of colors...

Candy Cane support columns for the porch...

What will the next layers bring? I'll have to figure that out in my Sugarplum Visions and Dreams...

    1. Thanks Shannon! I am glad I went with the Lola ones instead of larger "mini tree ornaments".

    1. Thanks Julia! I am really hoping to have the next set of exterior layers completed by Thanksgiving, and the final interior room (bedroom) completed by Christmas. It has really been a wonderful project to set me in the "holiday mood"!

    1. I better set out some sweets that can really be eaten during the holidays - otherwise, it might just be cruel!

  8. Your piping is just brilliant - I know what it took - I am absolutely useless at it! Are the decorations real sweeties? I was just thinking how lovely to have such a wonderful gingerbread house and for it to be calorie free then found I was wondering if I could just sneak off one or two gumdrops without you noticing - as all kids do..... It is eally, really lovely and absolutely spot on in every way. M

    1. Thanks Marilyn! My piping is getting a bit better as I go, and the collage clay is a dream. If you don't like it, it peels right off with no residue when set. The candies are not real - just resin or polymer clay. We have no family little ones living near us, so I should not have to worry about protecting either them or the house too much. It will be displayed during the holidays, but up high enough that the puppies don't get curious!

  10. Christmas and candies...two absolutely favourite things as we move closer to the month of December. How charming you have made the exterior of this cottage and it will bring a touch of whimsy, colour and most of all Christmas to a corner of your home...beautiful!

    1. Thanks Giac! I think it is safe to say that the exterior should be ready for Thanksgiving! Then it's back inside to finish the bedroom in time (I hope) for Christmas!
