And Then The Flu Happened...

Uh huh... and it was all going so well! I won't bore you with the long and painful story. Suffice to say we are alive and breathing. Nearly three weeks have gone by but I am starting to resume normal life again... I truly hope that all of you had a much better ending to 2016 than I! I hope to be reassured of this as I go back and catch up on all of the posts and happenings that I missed!

Because the hubs and son were working out of town for most of December, and because The Flu Happened, we will be observing Christmas (and all fall/winter birthdays)with our closest family on January 14th. Hey! Better late than never, right? But party prep and planning are in full swing here, so the minis have been demoted to the end of the priority list.

Let me just tease you with a few up-to-date photos of the cookbook projects and tell you that many new and exciting developments are afoot in my mini world and I can't wait to share it all! Soon, very soon!

Mine...

Tasha's...

Hope to see you all back here the week of January 16th! Until then, I hope you are all well and off to an exciting 2017, too!

    1. Thanks, Penelope! Taking care of sick kids is always a big job! Snot patrol alone is daunting! I hope you are all recovered and off to a great 2017!

    1. Thank you, Sheila! Me too! Being forced into submission make me very cranky!

That lemon cake made me hungry, too! In fact, I am making lemon cupcakes for the birthday part of the celebration and chocolate mint cupcakes for the Christmas part! Nom, nom!

  6. Hi Jodi!
Happy New Year and welcome back to the land of the Mini! :D
Other than fighting a cold, everything is okay here. Have to say that your "lemon-aid" is the perfect remedy for what ails, because it is cheery and uplifting to look at!
Love the Lemon theme, Love the yellow and white with hits of black and green used throughout, too!
The only thing I find a bit out of sync is the word "lemon" on the bottom shelf, only because it stops and blocks the eye from probing deeper into the contents of the lower shelf, and you have so many pretty things which are difficult to see and fully appreciate.
Have to commend you on your lemon cake, because it looks just like the kind my mother used to make! :D

    1. Thanks so much Elizabeth! I will play with the LEMON to see if it can be used less obtrusively someplace else. I can't take credit for the cake - I purchased it from DogMa Creations on Etsy because it looked so delicious and better than I could do. I am making real life lemon cupcakes, though!
