It is cold and dreary here in the northwest... In fact, we got about six inches of snow last night! The puppies had so much fun investigating, and within just a few minutes, the back yard was completely covered in paw prints! We had to make several trips out, warming up by the fireplace in between. It is mostly melted today, but we have more on the way for Tuesday.
There's no better way to spend a dreary day than to work on minis! I have made some good progress on my (not so) secret project, though I am still waiting on a couple special pieces to finish it off. It's character has certainly emerged, and it fits my daughter to a "t". She's vibrant and fun and full of joy!
Material for both aprons and tea towels printed on cotton fabric. |
Natasha's apron assembled. |
Here you can see where the apron will hang. It was tough making sure nothing would stick out too far and prevent the cover from closing! |
I am still working on what will be included on the table shelf. I think I am thinking too hard. |
The chipboard shelves I made using the Cricut worked out wonderfully! |
This is really my first time working in "mixed media", so I spent a lot of time toiling over what to do! |
Here is the back cover. I have made several pockets for storing family recipe's which I'll re-write on recipe cards that are part of the Kiss The Cook line of products. |
Jodi
You've outdone yourself as usual! Now I'm craving cake
ReplyDeleteMe too, but I have no ambition to bake any! Thanks, Kat! It has been a fun departure!
DeleteWow! Really beautiful. I love how everything fits in perfectly!
ReplyDeleteMaybe some little square baskets for the table shelf? With baking supplies like flour and sugar in them? Or fruit?
Thanks Sheila! Baskets are a great idea, and I can print off some baking boxes to put in them!
DeleteYou have done a fantastic job! Everything just flows. It is a lovely nostalgic kitchen scene. Natasha is a lucky daughter. The "book" will be a great place for those family recipes.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shelley! The most fun thing about the whole project is that I think she's going to love it!
DeleteHi Jodi! I have nothing but MEGA ADMIRATION for your "Biscuits and Gravy" nostalgic baking scene!!! I LOVE the bold and cheery wall covering of strawberry red and mint green. There couldn't be any better choice because it sets the stage for all of the fun baking stuff you have loaded on the table and the pretty vintage shelves with. It makes me grin from ear to ear when I see it, because there is so much to enjoy! :D
ReplyDeleteI've no doubt that Natasha, I will be THRILLED to receive this gift because it has obviously been made with LOADS of Love and Attention to detail, and I've no doubt that it will become an HEIRLOOM just as soon as she opens the book!
BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL work Jodi!!! ♥

p.s. I think that you should consider making the tiny measuring spoons that I did in a tutorial -" Measure for Measure" because I think that they would be fit right in with your scene. ;P
Thanks so much, Elizabeth! It has been a very fun distraction while the boys are out of town working. I have been wanting to try your measuring spoon tutorial! I don't have earring clips, but I do have some thin aluminum from tealight candles. Hmmm...
DeleteThis is such a cute and fun project. You did an amazing job! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks, Brae! It is so nice to fit these little fun ones in between the bigger projects! It keeps my interest going!
DeleteThis is absolutely gorgeous! I love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sam! It's been so much fun to work on!
DeleteThis is adorable! I keep going back to look at the pictures. I'm sure I missed some of the details!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Morgen! I'll post more photos once I'm all finished!
